Marc Bloch will be admitted to the Pantheon in Paris! The date for the "Panthéonisation" is set for 16 June 2026. Meanwhile, @SorbonneParis1 has launched a website to track the many conferences to celebrate the event. Some of them start this month.

This is heartbreaking news. I had the privilege of meeting and discussing with Prof. Aurell multiple times at Leeds. We have lost a remarkable historian, whose scholarship, creativity, and enthusiasm were unparalleled.

This is such a sad news. Jinty was an incredible historian and an equally remarkable teacher. I'll always remember fondly her seminars at @KingsCollegeLon during my MA. It was a privilege to be taught by her.

We are very sorry to learn of the death of Dame Jinty Nelson (1942-2024).

As well as being a superb historian of the early medieval world, Jinty was the first female President of @RoyalHistSoc (2001-05), having been elected a Fellow in 1979. Her portrait hangs in our office 1/2
