I can’t let this go unchallenged.
That young man was, in my opinion and based on the video below, the clear victim of an assault.
The video shows, for reasons that are entirely beyond my comprehension, the officer steaming directly into the victim.
The officer made no effort to prevent the attack or apprehend the men who had just administered the violence.
What I see in the video is the officer using speed and aggression at the moment of peak danger and confusion against the victim.
The victim then controls himself the moment he realises it is now a police officer attacking him and not one of the multiple men who were attacking him a fraction of a second earlier.
In my opinion Birmingham Police should drop the charges against this young man and ask the officer why she went for the victim on the ground and not the attackers!
🚨🔵 Xabi Alonso will be announced as new Chelsea manager very soon on a FOUR year contract, valid until June 2030.
Everything agreed as Xabi will be in London in the next days to start this new chapter.
Understand he’ll be very much involved in Chelsea summer transfer plans.
The UK has crossed a line.
Welfare spending: £333 billion
Income tax revenue: £331 billion
We’re now paying out more than we bring in from workers.
This is unsustainable.
Surprise, 13!
The Chicago White Sox will honor 2005 World Series-winning Manager Ozzie Guillén on Saturday, August 8, by retiring his uniform No. 13 during a special tribute before the first pitch vs. Cleveland at 6:10 p.m.
🚨 | Fred Vasseur: "A year ago, I warned everyone that there would be [start] problems, and the answer was clear: we had to design the cars respecting the rules."
"We did that, and there have already been massive changes, like the additional 5 seconds and the blue lights, which did not help us. I would say that is enough."
"FOR US, THE CASE IS CLOSED!"
How come none of the British Muslim MPs have condemned the attack on the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and other Muslim countries during an important month such as Ramadan? They will condemn Britain for hitting Iran back I promise you. We know what they’re made of; you don’t.
Now you know it was never about Muslims; it was about Islamism and supporting terrorism through MPs who are now acting as Iran’s proxies in your Parliament.
You see how bad that sounds? Now you know .. it’s sad. This is Britain now.
TRUMP WARNS U.K.: DO NOT GIVE AWAY DIEGO GARCIA
Donald Trump urged Prime Minister Keir Starmer not to enter a 100-year lease over Diego Garcia, calling it a “big mistake” that would weaken British control of the strategic Indian Ocean island.
Trump questioned the legitimacy of those claiming rights to the territory and warned that losing control could harm U.K. security. He said the U.S. may need access to Diego Garcia—and the airfield at Fairford—if tensions with Iran escalate.
While affirming strong U.S.-U.K. ties, Trump argued Britain must remain firm and avoid what he called a “tenuous” deal.
“DO NOT GIVE AWAY DIEGO GARCIA,” he said.
Wholesale electricity prices back roughly to where they were in 2019, pre-pandemic, pre-Ukraine. But energy bills never higher. Why?
Simples: government policies, pursued by previous Tory governments and the current Labour one, which has doubled down on Tory nonsense. Such as carbon taxes, massive subsidies for renewables, billions to upgrade grid to accommodate said renewables etc etc.
For all of this century it’s always been easier for young folks to find work in the UK than in the EU, where youth unemployment rates were consistently higher than UK.
It explains why so many young, educated, ambitious Europeans flocked to the UK to work, much to our mutual benefit.
These days are over.
Britain’s youth unemployment rate has risen above Europe’s for the first time: unemployment among 16 to 24-year-olds jumped to 15.3% in the three months to September, surpassing the EU’s rate of 15pc, according to the OECD.
It marks the first time youth unemployment in Britain has been higher than in the bloc since records began in 2000.
Labour policies — especially pushing up the minimum wage too much — are to blame. Even the Bank of England says minimum wage increases for pricing young people out of work. But raising national insurance contributions has also crippled many industries that employed young folks.
Thanks Starmer-Reeves. Another fine success story.
@ZiaYusufUK Hang on Mr Yusuf, this isn't Bangor University as a whole, but the Political Society, probably just a few young students. They're wrong to ban Reform UK but you shouldn't threaten to take it out on Bangor University as a whole. You sound too much like that bully Trump.

I've been investigating student loans, and there are shocking findings.
How much money is missing? It is staggering.
'Value of loans where income could not be verified'?
£12,801,872,323.
This will be various types of graduates, but a vast percentage will be foreign students who have left without repaying their loans.
I believe there is an industrial scam, where foreign nationals are able to claim loans and then abscond with no intention of ever repaying it.
My questioning to ministers has uncovered that 'cases of misrepresentation in student finance applications' relating to migrant worker fraud has soared from 6 in 20/21 to 301 in 24/25.
I believe there is a particular issue with Romanians.
The 'Unique Number of Loan Borrowers' from Romania has gone from 25,046 in 19/20 to 78,325 in 23/24.
This vastly outstrips any other country. Does that not sound alarm bells?
Why are Romanians allowed to claim student loans? It should be restricted to British students and British students only. But just look at how much it's increased...
I am urging Government to launch a full investigation. Billions and billions gone. Who’s accountable? Who’s been sacked? Where is the investigation?
This is gross incompetence at best, industrial fraud at worst. There must be severe consequences.
Let's ban foreigners from these loans, and use the savings to help scrap interest altogether on student debt for British boys and girls.
