Long before “endometriosis” was a word most people recognized, Dolly Parton was living it.
She dealt with years of severe pelvic pain and heavy bleeding. The kind of symptoms so many women are told are just “part of being a woman.”

In the 1980s, hysterectomy was often the only option a woman with severe endometriosis was offered, essentially ending any possibility of motherhood in exchange for relief from pain. In 1984, she had the procedure.

One of the clearest signs of sincerity is consistency, especially when there’s nothing to gain. They’re kind even when no one’s watching, they keep their word even when it’s inconvenient, and their actions actually match what they say. They don’t have to keep proving that they care, you just feel it in the way they treat you. Sincere people don’t always make a big show of it. They just show up and mean what they say.
