As Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, I attended the change of command ceremony where the @NATO Multinational Battlegroup stationed in #Slovakia 🇸🇰 has been expanded to the level of a Brigade.

I am glad that the previous lead nation’s soldiers from #Czechia 🇨🇿 continue their mission here and I thanked them for their excellent service. I also greatly appreciate our Allies from #Spain 🇪🇸 for the decision to take over the command and deploy the largest number of soldiers to the group.

I made clear that Slovakia is and will unequivocally continue to be an integral part of the #Alliance. Our #NATO membership not only guarantees our safety but also makes us a part of a joint space of shared values, security and freedom where we can seek further progress and participate in shaping and maintaining international stability.
