"I always come back to Random Access Memories (by Daft Punk). The way you return to a conversation that meant something, not to relive it, just to feel it again, to confirm it was real."
Accessed some not so random memories. Read on.

@ndtv@gautam_adani Adani Bhai shared his vision for Viksit Adani Group, it is my duty and responsibility to contribute to this journey: ___fill in the blank__
Can't wait for the paper! Pls make sure to include this updated political glossary:
U-Turn: Strategic realignment,
"Gundo ki party": Future employer,
Principles: Subject to market risks.
His education wasn't wasted at all.. he just secured a placement at 10x hike.. 😸
At some point I am going to write a paper on how words have lost their meaning. How politicians have butchered Language. How their dishonesty has robbed communication of all truth. Today as Raghav Chaddha joins the BJP, a party he once called "gundo ki party", he has not only lost any credibility he ever had, but also any goodwill any of us felt towards him. What a waste of an education, a confident voice that could have done so much for the nation, a young politician who has time to change things. What a waste.

I often wonder about Buffaloes
The Animal We Chose Not to See
Walk through any Indian city and you will see cows everywhere : on roads, near temples, in traffic, in headlines.
But you will almost never see a buffalo.
Not a female.
Not a male.
Not a calf.
And yet much of the milk, ghee, paneer and sweets we consume daily come from her. Buffaloes are calm, maternal, social, and no different in their ability to feel pain, fear, or affection.
So where did they go?
They didn’t disappear.
They were never allowed to appear.
Cows, when no longer productive, are often abandoned into our streets and highways. That visibility is mistaken for reverence. But it is often only unresolved responsibility.
Buffaloes are different.
They are too valuable to abandon. They are tightly managed, tightly controlled, and tightly extracted. And when their productivity declines, they are not released : they are removed.
They remain inside the economy until death.
And death, for a buffalo in India, is not an accident. It is the expected and brutal endpoint.
In our mythology, the buffalo, is the form of Mahishasura : something to be conquered, not protected.
So we coded them differently.
The buffalo became a resource to be exploited.
But here is the inconsistency:
If the cow is called “mother” because she gives milk, the buffalo qualifies equally.
Buffalo milk is richer and forms the base of much of our dairy economy including sweets, butter, ghee, curd etc.
If gentleness is the criterion, buffaloes are often calmer than cows.
If nurturing is the criterion, buffalo mothers are deeply bonded to their calves.
And yet none of this earns them protection or visibility.
The buffalo is the animal we chose not to see.
Not because she is less gentle.
Not because she is less life-giving.
Not because she is less sentient.
But because she does not fit into the story we told ourselves about virtue.
And that silence is not neutral.
Buffaloes deserved better…much better.
And if there is ever an afterlife : pray you are not born a buffalo in India.
💔
I am genuinely furious today. At this bizarre confidence people walk around with. The so called educated, elite, air purifier class. We see the AQI in the red, shrug and still pack out concerts, comedy shows and clubs as if the city is just a mildly dusty backdrop for our lives. Inside our buildings everything feels filtered and controlled but step outside and it is a completely different reality. We have normalised the fact that Delhi-NCR almost never meets basic WHO air quality limits and instead of treating that like an emergency we treat it like weather. And yes, I am squarely part of this story because every day I find myself thinking of how to get out of this city during this predictable pollution season.
What really gets to me is how neatly we have chosen to buy our way out individually instead of fixing anything collectively. With our expensive air purifiers at home and at work, weekend getaways, those events in Gurgaon because the air is “cleaner there na?”, N95s for our own kids while the rest of the city breathes whatever it gets.
The truth is almost funny in a dark way. We are not even pretending to solve the problem anymore, we are just paying to dodge it. I blame myself in this as much as anyone else. If people like us with money, information and options are busy running away from the mess instead of demanding better then we should at least acknowledge that we are not the victims of this reality, we are co-founders of it. And perhaps it is finally time we act like it and do something that actually matters instead of showing up at yet another “much needed” night out in poisoned air.

The smoke storm will pass, winter will end. And we will forget about the air pollution crisis till the next November.
Can we try something different this year?
Here is my attempt to put together a draft Clean Air Plan. Please share, amend and refine this thread.
And let's keep up the pressure all year round till something like this is implemented. (1/13)
#CallForDemocraticProtest against Air Pollution Emergency.
People of Delhi please organise peacefully in large numbers and save your city. Save yourselves. Save your children. Save your parents, your loved ones. This is a bi-partisan issue. People from all walks of life and political leanings should join.
Please let us know if anyone is organising a protest march or sit-in wrt the air-pollution emergency in Delhi.
People organising and democratically resisting government inaction and apathy is the only solution. A mass mobilisation is required. Opposition parties should support.
