In a recent instagram live, I was asked about the key to singing both Verdi and Wagner. For me, one of the key elements is to maintain a healthy “chiaro and scuro” balance. Balancing the desire to add the beautiful scuro, or darkness, to the sound, while maintaining the chiara.💕
