💔 The Red-Haired Angel — Captain Alina Pravosudova
Alina Pravosudova was born on June 3, 2000, in Haifa, Israel, into a family of immigrants from Russia and Ukraine. She grew up in Haifa and studied at Alon School and later at Alliance High School.
Alina served as an officer in the IDF Home Front Command’s Southern District. She worked closely with Bedouin communities in southern Israel, helping build cooperation, trust, and coordination between local communities and the IDF. Although young, she was entrusted with major responsibilities and was known for her intelligence, determination, warmth, and remarkable ability to connect with people.
On October 7, 2023, Alina was the duty officer at the Urim military base. She remained at her post during the terrorist assault and fought to protect the soldiers under her responsibility. She was 23 years old when she was killed. She was posthumously promoted to the rank of Captain.
“I am not afraid of you! I am not afraid of you!”
The red-haired, freckled young woman shouted as she continued firing at the terrorists pouring through the doorway that had been blown apart.
She did not suffer.
Death was instant.
They found her beside the dead attackers.
They say eight of them were left lying there.
That Saturday, Alina was the officer in charge at the base.
There were about ten young women with her.
And she herself was still so young — yet she was saving those whose lives had been entrusted to her.
As a lieutenant, she carried out responsibilities that, before her arrival, had been performed by a major.
She was responsible for maintaining communication and cooperation between the IDF and the Bedouin communities of Israel’s Southern District.
She taught people how to work together.
They say she won people over with her appearance and her bright, ringing voice.
At first, the locals did not realize that this beautiful young woman was far stronger and more capable than she seemed.
They had no chance of walking away from her without becoming infected by her love for Israel — their shared home.
I heard from her commander that the results of Alina’s work can still be felt everywhere today.
The local communities loved her deeply.
And they remember her.
The last time she made contact was around 8:00 in the morning.
May her memory be a blessing.🙏💔
