I don’t care about the rest. But Saayoni Ghosh, TMC MP, posted a meme showing a condom being put on a shivling. It shook me to my innermost being. I had filed a police complaint against her at Rabindra Sarobar PS, Kolkata - predictably with no results. Then she sung a song as part of TMC’s election campaign, which said she had the Kaaba in her eyes, Madina in her heart.

Odisha surprised us.
At 81 and 84 my husband and I travelled through Konark, Chilika, Puri and Dhauli with our son and grandson.
We found dolphins, temples that function like sundials, an unforgettable darshan at Jagannath — and beaches cleaner than many European coastlines I visited years ago.
Yet this remarkable state remains under-celebrated.

Some of you who saw my Xeet yesterday asked about the giraffe at https://t.co/ibnDOG7B1A isy photo close-up.
A rare 13th-century sculpture of a giraffe in one panel of the sculptures around a Sundial at Konark temple. It has been accepted as showing the existence of ancient maritime trade between India and Africa. It seems to show a king seated on an elephant may be being presented with the giraffe.
