Having been part of GrowthX community for a few years… and being at Cloudflare for over a year now, seeing these two worlds come together genuinely makes me so happy 💙🧡
Builders, go wild!!!
I am going to San Francisco next week
to host the World's Largest
Hermes Buildathon.
In one weekend, we'll have builders coming together across 10 cities and 5 countries, all building at the same time.
Backed by incredible partners like OpenAI, Cloudflare, Convex, Wispr Flow, ElevenLabs, Hissa, LinkUp, and Dodo Payments, we're putting a tech stack in your hands that most builders would kill for.
And yes, every accepted builder gets credits just for showing up.
Joining me are two incredible co-hosts:
Saloni Aggarwal, Founding Growth at Tandem AI, helping enterprises adopt AI agents at scale.

we help members bring voice ai into their companies.
this gives us a front row view into how voice ai is getting adopted in enterprises across support, hiring, payments, quick commerce, sales, operations, and internal workflows.
after seeing enough of these builds, i now see five core pillars that define a strong voice ai roadmap. these 5 pillars can be summarised in one sentence.
it completes the job (outcome)
understands the user (voice exp)
remembers context (memory)
takes action, (tooling)
moves a business metric (pain point)
more details 👇🏻
1. job to be done (outcome %)
can the agent finish the declared job, or does it only talk through the workflow?
it runs the full path on its own: verify, classify, decide, write back, on mocked, sandbox, or live surfaces.
it escalates exceptions only, and hands the human a case that is already prepared.
85%+ success across multiple test cases, not 10%-15% use cases solved. the higher the outcome %, the more it's a real product.
2. voice experience
the second is VX or voice experience. where are many things, 3 things are insanely critical:
- choice of words
- voice modulation
- & latency
choice of words can be hindi english code switching. it is also what it says, the structure, format etc.
voice modulation is how it says those words vs an angry customer or a nervous candidate etc.
latency is essentially managing memory and context to make the agent respond fast :))
3. memory and context
the best agents have short term memory during the call
- what the business rules allow.
- what is happening in the current call.
- what the user has already shared.
- what happened in previous calls, orders, disputes, or interviews.
they also know when to pull in long term memory - rag, search etc.
and manage all of this context efficiently.
4. actions taken & tooling.
what abilities have we equipped the agent to do? what are the different types of tooling we've enabled?
the outcome of more tooling and actions is fewer human in the loop cases.
5. business impact
without the below, it's going to be a side project inside the company.
1. can you name the metric and the baseline? (support cost, fraud loss, hiring velocity, sla)
2. can you show who pays for the problem and how often it happens?
3. can you tie the agent to a real bottleneck, not a minor support ticket?
4. is the impact scale 30%+ movement on a metric that matters (₹10 crore saved, one critical hire unblocked)
5. does this sit on painful workflows with high volume, high cost, high delay, or high error rates.
to summarise:
1. it completes the job (outcome)
2. understands the user (voice exp)
3. remembers context (memory)
4. takes action, (tooling)
5. moves a business metric (pain point)
this is what the buildathon will solve for. and growthx sits in the best space to solve this.

GrowthX Presents
The Voice AI Buildathon
₹3.5L cash prizes. 100 builders. 8 hours👇🏻
Most voice AI agents suck.
You receive a call, hear the first few words, and cut it immediately. A handful of companies have cracked this though. And they are being able to drive out-sized business impact.
GrowthX will give you the structure
We will provide you an intense, but step-by-step approach on how to make voice agents that do not sound like an "agent". You'll ship an agent that is nuanced, human like, and actually delivers a business outcome. This is the core trait that defines a GrowthX Voice AI Buildathon.
Who is this for?
1. Senior folks in marketing, growth, product, sales
2. People with deep & nuanced understanding about their domain or industry.
3. P&L owners who want to implement AI in their company to drive business impact.
Powered by Ringg AI
For this specific Buildathon we've partnered with Ringg because it's no-code first, so as a business leader, you can come and build with ease. Of course, you can go deeper with APIs if you want to.
What you'll build:
Bring a problem that's quietly eating your team's time, money, or bandwidth. Something that reduces operational overhead, increases conversion, improves retention, automates repetitive workflows, or creates measurable business impact.
Don't have an idea?
We'll give you one. And if you've been meaning to add a voice layer to your business but didn't know where to start, this is the room.
Applications close in 72 hours.
Voice AI meets Business Impact
We just wrapped up GrowthX Voice AI Buildathon with ElevenLabs and Elevation Capital.
We saw agents negotiate procurement deals, chase cheque bounces, support travel operations, help with fleet breakdowns, do career consulting, and check in on elders who need companionship. Some of them will save companies hundreds and thousands of $$. Some of them could help teams make crores.
The demos were the best part.
The room genuinely could not tell what was human and what was AI. People were laughing through the calls because the agents sounded real, responded well, and actually did the job. Every product had a real use case behind it. No one was building for the sake of building.
Thank you to every builder who showed
Builders from Microsoft, CRED, LinkedIn, GoKwik, Uber, Zeta, AWS and more spent their Sunday building voice agents for real business problems.
Thank you to our mentors for giving their time. Thank you to our judging panel for keeping the bar high.
Until the next one.
We're hosting Wispr Flow's
official after hours during
the Mumbai Tech Week.
Calling it "Speak Easy"
Keeping it intentionally smol. MTW will have 15,000 builders and developers, but we're curating a room of just 50 people. These would be across creators, builders, developers, founders, VCs. We're keeping this close to the location i.e. around BKC itself.

hiring 5 interns at growthx.
6 months to prove it.
full time if you do.
you need less than 1 year of experience to apply. role is based in bangalore. paid (ofc)
role 1:
community & ai (3 people)
what you'll learn:
- how to run a community that 5,534 people pay ₹15,999 a year to be in
- the playbook behind 50 live events a month across 11 cities, and how almost all of it is automated
- a new ai tool or framework every week. you'll pick one, learn it, and ship it inside the company by friday
- gtm and marketing from first principles, not from a textbook
- brand and partnerships with the top companies in the world.
- how to design activation, engagement, and retention loops that compound
- how to write copy that members actually read and forward
- how to host. in person, on stage, in slack, on a call
why this function
community is the product at growthx. this team owns whether members show up, stay, and bring their friends. you will not be doing "community management" in the slack-moderator sense. you will be running the loop that decides if growthx grows or stalls.
who we want:
- you live on the internet. you know what's good before your friends do.
- you can write. not "wrote essays in college" write. "people forward my stuff" write.
- you've shipped something on your own. a newsletter, an event, a community, a side project, a meme account that went somewhere. evidence over credentials.
- you treat ai tools the way a chef treats a new knife. curious, fast, daily.
- bonus: you've hosted something in real life and people came back.
how to apply:
send us two things.
1/ the best thing you've ever shipped. link is better, description if it's not there.
2/ one paragraph on what you'd build in your first month. (hint, this is the most imp)
send it to: joingrowthx@agentmail(.)to
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
role 2:
engineering & ai (2 people)
what you'll learn:
- how to ship to 5,534 members in production from your first week.
- fullstack engineering on a real codebase
- how to build with a multi-agent system, not just prompt one. you'll write agent definitions, give them memory, and watch them ship code while you sleep
- the engineering process that the agents are trained on. how we research before we build, how we write one-pagers, how we align, how we review, how we test, how we push
- the art of taking customer feedback and turning it into the next feature, not the next ticket
- product strategy. what to build, why, and what to kill
working directly with the founder on the roadmap
why this function:
the growthx platform is built in-house. member selection. event platform. feed, chat, dms, member connect, notifications, the whole stack. four engineers ship it, and each one operates like a cto because of the agent system.
who we want:
- you've built and shipped a real thing that real people use. side project, a tool at school, anything with users.
- you code with ai every day and have opinions about it. claude code, cursor, windsurf, whatever. you've felt the difference between using these tools and operating them.
- you read code faster than you write it. you ask why before how.
- ego-light. you'd rather ship the right thing than defend the thing you wrote yesterday.
- you can hold a product conversation. you understand that engineering is downstream of "what should exist."
- bonus: you've worked with multi-agent systems, or you've at least tried to break one.
how to apply: send us three things to: joingrowthx@agentmail(.)to
1/ your github, or the closest thing you have to it.
2/ the most interesting thing you've built. one paragraph on what it does and what you learned.
3/ one feature you'd build for growthx in your first month, and how you'd build it. (hint, this is the most imp)
Stop whatever you're doing, Bengaluru.

Full house at @OpenAI for Indian Builders, yesterday. From the OpenAI playbook for startups, building scaled use cases & working with OpenAI - we covered a lot of ground.
Thomas Jeng broke down how the OpenAI for Startups team is working with founders across APAC and answered many of your questions across 4 themes: AI for India, Infra, true product moats & the future.
What followed was meaningful 1:1 conversations with the India OpenAI team — @pragyamisra, @harshitm29, Arjun, Shreya & Sun Weiran. The sheer enthusiasm for building with OpenAI is ❤️
Extremely grateful to Mohammed @SaitSufiyan & @peakxvpartners for co-building the platform for Indian AI founders to get in front of foundational AI companies in the world. This is just the beginning.
P.S. If you were there, what was your biggest takeaway?

600+ registered for the OpenClaw Showcase this friday. we're picking 100.
not based on your title.
not based on your company.
every single person in the room will have built something on openclaw or with AI agents. that's the only filter.
4 things will happen.
1/ @harshilmathur (ex boss 🫡), opens the room.
2/ top builders demo what they've made.
3/ the openai team is there and staying for the full thing.
4/ the main part is just builders geeking out together. what's working, what's broken, what's fun to build, what's quietly making money.
this kind of experience only happens when the best ecosystem builders come together

there's a lot of discourse on how women's day should be celebrated. for me it's simple, just celebrate the people who've actually shown up for you.
so i built something for it at a buildathon 🌻
