Galvanize Maryland is fighting for the soul of our nation: supporting activists, educating voters, and asking you to join us to save our republic. November 3.
State data show that 8 in 10 Marylanders now counting on unemployment assistance will fully lose benefits next week. That means hundreds of thousands of people will suddenly be left with no income. Cutting off federal benefits is cruel and unneccessary. https://t.co/9hwBZ7l88m
Don't miss: @washingtonpost on the stunning retreat by MDOT on the private highway widening:
"Montgomery Council President Tom Hucker said the decision demonstrates the effectiveness of community opposition to the Beltway widening plan."

Rather than relying solely on status quo "solutions" and #MAGA talking points, how about actually meeting with me to discuss violent crime, gun trafficking, or restarting the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council — as I've asked before?
@GovLarryHogan, I'm ready when you are.
Disgusted #Hogan proposed doubling school vouchers w/ $2.9 B in unmet public school need. Private schools are major donors.
Supported road projects near properties his company owns.
Made an unprecedented amount while in office.

Big news, as part of the American Rescue Plan, a Restaurant Revitalization Fund has been established.
This fund is meant to provide funding to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open.

The Maryland General Assembly finished its 2021 session last night. We passed a lot of important bills and I'll be reporting more in the coming days. Today, I wanted to highlight the collective work of the Montgomery County Delegation, of which I serve in the leadership team.
I couldn’t agree more @WhoopiGoldberg! The Maryland House of Delegates began our effort to reform policing almost a year ago. Now that we’ve passed strong, comprehensive police reform bills, I hope we can serve as a model and have more states follow our lead. #Working4MD
BOOM: With two hours to spare, the Dignity Not Detention Act—my bill to ban ICE detention centers—PASSED both chambers of the General Assembly with a veto-proof majority.
Tonight, Maryland sent a clear message: No one should profit from human misery and family separation.
The Maryland General Assembly adjourned tonight without passing emergency rent protections (HB 1312) in the midst of a pandemic where over 200k MD families are at risk of eviction. Shame on us. Shame on the Senate. With every person that is evicted, remember this.
Maryland lawmakers voted on Saturday to limit police officers’ use of force, restrict the use of no-knock warrants and repeal the nation’s first Bill of Rights for law enforcement, taking sweeping action to address police violence. https://t.co/1Z4zophGRl
Maryland is leading the country in transforming our broken policing system. I am proud to lead the House in overriding each of the governor’s police reform vetoes.(1/3)
Breaking: Maryland's Democratic-majority legislature just overrode Gov. Larry Hogan's vetoes of three historic police accountability bills, becoming the first state in the nation to do away with its powerful Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights. https://t.co/dFwVSQW6tm
YET ANOTHER VETO: Maryland House overrode @GovLarryHogan veto of Anton's Law which amends the MD Public Information Act to give greater public access to police disciplinary records. Trust is the fruit of transparency. #PoliceAccountability#working4Md#overrideseason
Hogan’s national reputation is so at odds with the staunch conservativism he’s promoted in Maryland, from vetoing marijuana expungement to killing public transit and the list goes on and on.
Gov. Hogan isn't the only show in town. We are going to override his veto of the Juvenile Restoration Act and make this bipartisan initiative the law! Thank you to Sen. Chris West and everyone who has been part of this movement to ensure children don't die in prison.
