On a morning such as this, I find no satisfaction in fears, warnings, predictions and concerns becoming a reality. When arrogance replaces understanding and self-promotion replaces service, a Party will begin to forget what made them GREAT. Our party’s strength never came from bluster or pride, but from humility, faith, and belief in the goodness of this nation. The moment we value individual power over principle, individual ambition over duty, we lose touch with the heart and soul of our Republican- American values. Discarding the idea that sustaining freedom demands character, and effective leadership requires capability and grace, it then becomes lost. The decay doesn’t come from our opponents, it comes from within when we stop leading with conviction to start chasing applause.
