@Bret_A_Anderson 100% agreed. "Wanting" rather than "having" to go makes all the difference in creating a successful environment before we ever enter the door.
@WendyL612 Feedback from Ts is something that needs to happen yet unfamiliar for most. Ts taking feedback from Ls may prove even harder as it is a stay from the norm. Yet it could prove to be even more beneficial to all.
Less than two weeks until the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. Please consider donating this incredible program I have had the pleasure of being a part of the past 6 years. https://t.co/9XNuAjxiER via @firstgiving
@WendyL612@OPS_Virtual New lesson plans allow me to "Build lesson plans that support students in meeting learning targets, emphasize student participation, and include ongoing checks for understanding throughout." So far so good this year.
@WendyL612 My proudest growth is opening up to switching curriculum, schedule, and style of teaching. I am looking forward to growing through these and benefitting Ss more.
@WendyL612 “Student choice makes students active participants in their educations." Ss must be active in their education to garner the highest level of value from it. We want them to lead, not follow.
@WendyL612@OPS_Virtual Autonomy is the biggest thing I see coming out of this allowing for Ss personalization, which is vital for quality learning. Ss need to have that control to create ownership of their education and eliminate learning that is not applicable.
@WendyL612@nacol Ss taking ownership over their learning should be the goal of all classrooms. Once they have ownership they will have the responsibility to be successful in life.
@WendyL612 The biggest thing that stands out if the personalized learning time. Ss driving themselves on their pace and ability. This is vital in a true blended model. The biggest question is those Ss that don't meet the expected pace and fall too far behind - plan? Also, hard deadlines?
@WendyL612@drrickabaugh@BAMRadioNetwork@MsBlackburn@mmrogers0109@markdowl Efficacy. We as teachers need to work with an approach that creates a desired results without working for work's sake. Ts much work to help Ss develop strategies to be a better leaner as the teacher should be a mentor in the middle.
@WendyL612 Read about Locust Grove Middle School @LGMS_HCS and their use of "soft deadlines" grabbed my attention. We deal with the struggle of being self-paced while staying on Pace at OVS and this seems to be a solution. Great idea.
