A consumer rights group called Consumer Competition Claims (CCC), operating through GameClaim, has filed a class action lawsuit against Valve in the Netherlands.
The group alleges that Valve holds roughly 85% of the PC gaming market and enforces policies that restrict developers from pricing their games lower on competing platforms. CCC also contends that Valve's 30% revenue cut on game sales is excessive and reflects anti-competitive conduct.
The organisation estimates that Dutch gamers have been overcharged by more than €220 million since 2013 as a result of these practices.
CCC intends to pursue a settlement with Valve first, but if negotiations break down, the matter could proceed to court, potentially taking several years to conclude.
Wuthering Waves hit a new Steam record following the launch of Version 3.4, which brought a collaboration with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The update introduced Lucy and Rebecca as playable characters, and the crossover proved to be a major success.
