A Muslim youth in Hanagal Taluk allegedly murdered Shivaji Rao Bairoji after a fight broke out over the issue of returning change. Rao was running a pan shop in Rattihalli, Hanagal Taluk. The accused allegedly assaulted Rao mercilessly and bludgeoned him to death.

This incident comes close on the heels of another violent episode in which a farmer's hand was allegedly cut off during the Kaare Hunnime celebrations. Such outrageous acts must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. The police should act immediately to arrest the perpetrators of this ghastly crime and ensure that they are brought to justice.

This incident showcases the poor law-and-order situation and, according to critics, is a result of the Congress government's minority appeasement policies. The murderers of Shivaji Rao, who toiled hard to earn his livelihood, should not be spared and must be punished in accordance with the law.

The people of Karnataka, especially Hindus, should understand that they must hold their government accountable for maintaining law and order. If they wish to put an end to this lawlessness, they should vote out the Congress government in the 2028 elections and demonstrate their democratic strength in unity.
