Our CM is landing in London this trip — at Heathrow, one of six airports serving that city.

Heathrow already has one of the best airfield design in the world with parallel runways. Even then, it is running out of space. So it is building a third runway to stay relevant, impacting nearly 800 homes.

That is how a global city treats capacity. It does not pretend land is easy. It prices the disruption, compensates people, and still builds.

Chennai has to think as boldly.
If AAI rejects Cheyyar and Gummidipoondi, do not freeze the second-airport plan for another decade. Pay 3 or 4 times the market price. Give alternate land. Resettle with dignity. Then get a working site done.
Farmers aren't the problem—indecision is.

If London can face the hard political choices for a single runway, Tamil Nadu can settle land fairly and get our second airport off the ground.
