Thoughts from API:
-Had another very nice week with a 4th place finish. Super proud of how I’ve been able to keep the good play going. Wish I could have made a couple more putts to give myself a real chance but nonetheless I’m playing some top level golf. It feels really good that this stretch doesn’t feel super out of the ordinary or something unsustainable.
-The greens at Bay Hill, especially some on the back nine… were white lol. I’m pretty sure some greens are basically dead and just hanging on from fertilizer haha. 10th hole especially, if you had a downhill putt, it was so so hard to make anything.
-To have a high finish at a signature event def feels different. It’s the best field in golf, at a tough venue and knowing my game is good enough to compete is a real confidence booster.
-Stoked for Russell but gutted for Collin. I think this will push him more to win a major again this yr.
-That being said, what’s interesting is that I don’t feel this huge wave of confidence over the ball and I think that’s a good thing. I don’t want my confidence to be based solely on past results. I need my “confidence” to be from staying in the present, and fully pursuing my shots. Good shots and results come and go but I can go much longer with my mental game if I do those things. The good results do help those inevitable doubts that creep into my head feel easier to dismiss and they go by quicker.
-I have a real chance to make the Masters via top 50 OWGR. Another good couple weeks is all it takes. Good thing about me playing so much golf is that I’m already at the maximum divisor so every point I make just adds to the points total.
-Orlando traffic is AWFUL
-Players is an awesome tournament and look forward to this one every yr.
-There’s a Korean saying: When the tide is right that’s when you row ur hardest. Let’s keep on rowing!
