A boy said he went to Kalyan railway station in Maharashtra to drop his family off for their train. The train was originally scheduled to leave at 12 noon, but later they were told it would arrive at 2 PM.
He had bought a platform ticket and waited with his family. However, the train kept getting delayed. Around 5 PM, when he was helping his family board the train and was about to leave, a TTE stopped him and asked for his platform ticket.
He showed the ticket, but the TTE told him that a platform ticket is valid only for 2 hours. Since more than 2 hours had passed, he was fined ₹500.
The boy then raised a simple question: if the train was delayed for several hours because of the railway, why should the passenger be held responsible for staying at the station?
He had purchased a valid platform ticket and was only there to drop his family.
If the delay was caused by the railway, shouldn’t there be some consideration for passengers and their families who are forced to wait longer?
It raises a genuine question about whether passengers should be fined when they remain at the station because of a railway delay.
If it was always planned for T1 to be shut, and Navi Mumbai to be operational - why was there no ancillary public transport planning around it?
The Metro Aqua Line has a T1 station - which will now be useless, while NMI has absolutely no public transport connectivity!
Mr. Gyanesh Kumar has now, out of fear, taken a decision to launch a campaign to restore to the electoral rolls the 13 crore 30 lakh people whom he had excluded from the voter lists through various stratagems during the SIR (Special Intensive Revision). Mr. Kumar may note however that he will not escape punishment for the massive disenfranchisement of the 13 core 30 lac people. In Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, where elections were held after SIR, crores of people were deprived of their right to vote. How can this be redressed? There is only one solution: elections should be conducted again in these states on the basis of the electoral rolls that was in place before the SIR (Special Intensive Revision). Under Section 100 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, if votes have been improperly rejected, the election is to be declared void. In the elections to these states, 2.87 crore voters were not allowed to vote and lakhs of people whose appeals were still pending were ignored.
The most reprehensible thing is that the Honorable Supreme Court – which is supposed to protect the fundamental rights of people; allowed the most fundamental of fundamental rights in a democracy – the right to vote to be trampled upon, saying how “does it matter”?

Punjab election is very positive for the Congress.
A sustained high voltage and united campaign by Congress will dethrone the unpopular AAP govt illegitimately being run by Delhi ex-MLAs Kejriwal and Sisodia.
Once AAPiyas are defeated in Punjab, ex-MLA Kejriwal may try and become Mayor of one of Delhi’s municipalities.
AAPiya nuisance will soon end after people of Punjab teach them a befitting lesson. Congressis must put in their best effort to end this nuisance once and for all.

All said and done, this man kept flagging issues with the Election Commission. He kept questioning the Commission and demanding answers.
He was called a cribber, a failed politician, an unpopular leader. A “Pappu.”
Today, many of the questions he raised are at the centre of the national debate.
So, who’s the Pappu now?
