@tim_powell@StevenZeitzew@northwoods1980@Followe41018512 Correct, in the UK @StevenZeitzew MSK physio/osteos undergo further training for imaging interpretation, injection therapy etc. Quite interesting clinical research improved better patient reported outcomes, early diagnosis and more cost effective.
@northwoods1980 Fair enough! Like everything, no perfect pathways - different opinions different management. My bias lies on conservative management, i’d probably try that first. If it fails, then a discussion with the orthopaedics. But I can certainly see both sides of the argument.
@northwoods1980 How soon after the onset did the patient get scanned? In the trust I work in (NHS) routine cases is about 12 weeks and urgent 2-4 weeks. I wonder if it would be a different sorry down the line? Do you think it may have settled? This is only a point of interest, not a comparison.
@northwoods1980 Similar to previous comments (Uk based clinician too). I would be worried of symptoms re-occurring post arthroscopy. As one of the comments down below brought up the RCTs comparing rehab vs arthroscopy. And yes medial offloader brace too. I’m interested….
My partner was looking at income protection policies today. Whilst we were on the phone they said ‘just to let you know… if you are off work due to back pain insurers will only cover if and once a doctor has ordered an MRI’
@nhs_scft Osteo’s getting the credit for being shortlisted for #CAHPOAwards2022, but let’s not forget that we owe much to the Physio’s who welcomed us into ‘their’ department & helped us thrive in the NHS. Thank you @jesspoulton88@elizabethjenn @LaurenceGyton @Chris_Horler et al
Super excited to be here with @3healthpursuit@gaposteopath@HennyB6 and Rob on our table, shortlisted for AHP Workforce Transformation Award with our brilliant osteopaths @gosc_uk @scft_ahp @sussexahps
As a young osteopath, and a young lad really, full of motivation and excited for the future of osteopathy… I feel its fading. Sad to see, sad to live it, and a sad day for osteopaths.
In order for this to work, and ultimately integrate our small world of Osteopathy into the ginormous world of medicine, we need to be unified. Osteopaths speak a different language and in order to demonstrate our skills we must learn to translate and transcribe…
Open to criticism and maybe adapt practice.
Reflect you practice, question what you know, maybe change the way you communicate what you do. If you feel yourself getting defensive question why.
