Every flip, throw, and lightning fast lift was performed for real. There were no wires, no CGI, and almost no pause before the next stunt. “Whitey's Lindy Hoppers” moved from one impossible looking lift to the next with incredible speed, precision, and trust, leaving almost no room for error.

This routine is widely regarded as one of the greatest “Whitey's Lindy Hoppers” performances ever captured on film. Born from the legendary Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, these dancers helped define swing dance and set a standard that still amazes audiences more than 80 years later.

About “Whitey's Lindy Hoppers”

“Whitey's Lindy Hoppers” was a professional performing group of exceptional swing dancers that was first organised in the late 1920s by Herbert “Whitey” White in the Savoy Ballroom and disbanded in 1942 after its male members were drafted into World War II. The group, taking on many different forms and sub-groups, including Whitey's Hopping Maniacs, Harlem Congeroo Dancers, and The Hot Chocolates, were inspired by the choreography of Frankie Manning. In addition to touring nationally and internationally, the group appeared in several films and Broadway theatre productions. Dorothy Dandridge and Sammy Davis Jr. were among the group's celebrity regulars.

Leaving aside his false claim that nobody else has settled a war, here are the eight items on President Trump’s “ended eight wars” list:
- A diplomatic dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia that was never a war
- Some sort of mystery situation between Serbia and Kosovo that also wasn’t a war under Trump
- The war in the eastern DRC that has never actually ended despite a US-brokered peace agreement
- The 12-day war between Israel and Iran last year, though Israel proceeded to join the US in going to war with Iran this year
- The war between Israel and Hamas, though Israel has continued to conduct near-daily attacks in Gaza despite a US-brokered ceasefire
- An India-Pakistan ceasefire Pakistan vocally credits Trump for but India claims Trump had nothing to do with
- The Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement and Thailand-Cambodia ceasefire in which all parties say Trump/his team was indeed a significant factor

July 8th 1969, Singer/actress Marianne Faithfull, attempts suicide with barbiturates while on the set of the film Ned Kelly. She is dropped from the cast of the movie, eventually recovers, and when awaking from her coma, tells friends that "wild horses couldn't drag me away."

The primary inspiration for The Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" was Keith Richards' feelings of guilt and yearning about leaving his newborn son, Marlon, to go on tour. The specific central phrase came to Richards while talking to his young child. However, Mick Jagger reshaped the lyrics to reflect the emotional complexities and heartbreak of his own strained relationship with Marianne Faithfull.

The most shocking part of Vance’s new book: he denies any agency in becoming a Senator or Vice President.

He says he didn’t expect to win the Senate seat, he just ran to make a point about Christian economics. Then, when told he was under consideration for VP, he thought it was a prank call.

Trump picked him by accident, not mentioning the lobbying on his behalf by the top figures in Trump's orbit, including Don Jr, who he called to thank right after he was selected.

Just a remarkable level of dishonesty or delusion.

I believe Vance is very good at convincing himself of the things he wants to believe. This is an extreme case demonstrating that, since it's so self-evidently false, even on an issue that has nothing to do with political views or ideology.

He lies to himself at a deep level about his own motivations.

This quality is what makes him one of our generation's most effective demagogues.
