🧵So, I do think this game has the best story in the series, Arven is such a compelling character and while they are kind of out of place in a Pokemon game I do appreciate how nuanced of a commentary on bullying that Team Star was...
@WhenIsKai2 Yeah, I was like "This guy Kevin seems so...fake" in SC and then I played The Third and they make a very good point about people seeming like that as an act
@faintlament In particular, I think more could be done with Ries being the new girl of the group. The original acknowledges it a little but doesn't ultimately do a ton with it, I think more could be done with her reacting to the inside jokes and dynamics of the party previously developed
@faintlament Make the garden like a sitcom. Make a bunch of new character interactions. The original kind of did this with characters shuffling around who was with what but a lot of the conversations were short. Give us basically a ton of new "skits"
@JEM__stones Well it sometimes felt odd when they didn't do that earlier, it would have felt especially odd for him not to have some reaction to, say, Alain's Mega Charizard X
@KizzityKaito@ToxicWeave It's because they didn't have enough development time to put more of his machinations in. Oh, we suffered for so long with those strict (a little under) three year development cycles.
@JEM__stones I like the concept of inverting the usual formula so this time it's Ash's opponent trying to claw his way back from a disadvantageous position but there's barely any banter between Ash and Guzma which is odd for a series that usually depicted Ash as a hyper chatterbox
@ottservia ... It does feel like gatekeeping at first. Sure it's not that hard to memorize the numbering but I remember struggling to follow any fire emblem discussion video on YouTube that didn't have constant visual aids because I couldn't figure out which games they were referencing
@megapig9001@fetwtconfession Japan didn't like Path of Radience and Radient Dawn. More Japanese fans then not were probably outright glad that there were a ton of characters from Awakening and Fates instead of Ike and his cast.
@KizzityKaito Actually Koharu was in the same boat Liko finds herself in at least, at least kinda, as Tomiyasu basically admitted they struggled to think of stuff for her to do even though Hanazawa wanted to voice her more, and that's probably what's happened with Liko
@PineNAPPO Bamco doesn't use the Mothership and Escort categories now: it's just mainline and spinoff and so both have been reclassified as "mainline" for a few years now, actually
@ChaoticStardom I think that would end up centralizing the Mega meta even more because of weather: rain teams would always have Swampert hold the stone, snow teams would always have Froslass hold it, sand and sun technically have more options but most of them would still be Tar and Zard Y
@kingslayer253 Sports and life simulation games do well on Switch but "hardcore" genres like RPGs and shooters usually sell more on PlayStation and PC. There are exceptions but Trails isn't one of them, though I hear 1st runs very well on Switch 2
