HDFC just killed Infinia and the voucher game.
Infinia’s Brand Voucher rewards are now capped at 3,000 reward points per calendar month.
Same story for:
• Diners Black Metal/ BizBlack – 3,000
• Diners Black – 3,000
• Regalia Gold – 3,000
This is a massive devaluation for anyone who maximized SmartBuy via Gyftr/Woohoo.
The golden era of chasing Infinia for unlimited voucher rewards is officially over. 💔

Forcing extra spends beyond that ₹22.5K threshold now yields zero accelerated value.
This is a massive structural hit to the classic 16% reward rate playbook we’ve all relied on for years. How are you re-routing your retail spends this month?
If your credit card strategy relies on stacking HDFC SmartBuy vouchers, it’s time to pivot.
HDFC has placed a strict 3,000 monthly RP ceiling on voucher purchases across Infinia, DCB, and BizBlack. The maximum optimized spend has collapsed from ₹1.12L down to just ₹22.5K.
For the longest time, HDFC premium cards had one beautiful play.
Buy vouchers through SmartBuy, use Infinia / DCB / Biz Black, and quietly extract a very strong reward rate.
Infinia users could earlier push voucher spends close to ₹1.12L and earn roughly 16% value.
That game has now changed.
HDFC has capped monthly voucher rewards at just 3,000 points for premium cards.
Which means you now max out the cap at around ₹22.5K voucher spends.
From ₹1.12L to ₹22.5K.
That is not a small revision.
That is HDFC telling premium users the voucher party is no longer unlimited.
I just got a ~₹48K Air India Business Class ticket for FREE. 👀
Thanks to credit card reward points and a Cabin Upgrade Voucher.
But hey… credit cards are bad, and all people do is show off their travels, right?
This is what most people don’t see.
Here’s exactly how I did it. 👇🏻
I had an Air India Cabin Upgrade Voucher, which lets you upgrade:
✅ Economy → Premium Economy
✅ Premium Economy → Business
The catch?
A Cabin Upgrade Voucher doesn’t guarantee an upgrade.
Award seat availability is always hit or miss.
More often, it’s a miss.
So I called Air India.
Luckily, there was upgrade availability in both Premium Economy and Business.
Then came the best part.
Until recently, these vouchers only worked on paid tickets booked directly with Air India.
Not anymore.
They’re now valid on bookings made through:
✅ Air India
✅ OTAs
✅ RP Redemptions
So instead of paying ₹9.8K out of pocket…
…I booked the entire Premium Economy ticket using EPM RPs via iShop (1 RP = ₹1). 🚀
Effectively ₹0 out of pocket.
One more call to Air India…
…and the Cabin Upgrade Voucher was applied.
Premium Economy → Business. ✈️
End result?
A ~₹48K Air India Business Class ticket…
…for effectively FREE. 🔥

Air India Maharaja has become my preferred destination for Axis Points
One quarter back Axis removed Accor as partner
This led to major shift in strategy - moved to HSBC for Accor and now Axis points most likely will slowly move to Maharaja
