And when it felt they already had an idea, you faced Japan’s defensive block, which won’t allow you to progress centrally, at least in the current moment of Brazil and how little time Ancelotti could work on it.

But then, Ancelotti adapted to the game context and allowed the team to attack mainly wide again in the second half.

It’s difficult to adapt those things and get it right. Ancelotti can do it, mainly because he understands players’ qualities.

@Ruxiiii4 Absolutely true. Years ago a low block was basically defending by accumulation of players in a tight space. Nowadays not only are doing this but also well organized, with clear responsibilities and solutions to defend central spaces, crossing situations and so on. 🔝Ruxi

Tras el partido contra el Real, Madrid, el gran Steven Gerrard le preguntó a Vincent Kompany que cuál fue la estrategia a seguir por el Bayern Munich en el partido.

Vincent no vendió humo ni se puso hablar de táctica. Es muy simple. Sus jugadores son libres:

"Este equipo se ganó el derecho y la libertad de jugar así. Juegan tan bien que yo no voy a cambiar el planteamiento dependiendo del rival. Jugamos igual contra el PSG y hoy contra el Madrid. Y lo hicieron igual de bien. Los cambios que hago son sólo para refrescar.

Recuerdo cuando fui jugador y teníamos esta clase de partidos: lo que tú querías es que te dieran la libertad de ser tú mismo. Y ya el talento se encarga. Lo demás es marginal y yo intento que eso marginal caiga a nuestro favor".
