a 5 tech used to having the edge now can be down blocked.

a good 2/3 tech can be trapped, Whammed, based, down blocked or Read

@TrapLifeFB Ball concealment and misdirection. Everything looks the same to the defense but small adjustments to make big plays. You can hit any gap with any back. I think it is also tough on defense coordinators due to normal tendencies are not there.

@nate_albaugh A while back at the IHSFCA clinic Sean Payton gave a great talk about his year off from NFL coaching. He coached his son's youth football team and a big part of it was trying to defend against the single wing. If I remember correctly he got help from Jon Gruden and Bill Parcells

@TrapLifeFB Bucksweep and trap are our go to, but a stud 0/1 tech can hurt bucksweep but can handle with him with power due to better angles.

@nate_albaugh We call it belly. A lot of wing t call it Down. I believe it has a lot to do with the fullback steps. Down the fullback will take a direct path to the hole. where on belly he will take his step, crossover step then begin to get down hill setting up a deeper mesh point.
