Disturbed’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” was released in 2015 on their album Immortalized. The dark, powerful reinterpretation reached #42 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Mainstream Rock and Hard Rock charts, and became Disturbed’s highest-charting song on the Hot 100.

The cover received widespread praise from Paul Simon, who personally contacted frontman David Draiman to tell him he loved the performance, calling it a powerful reinterpretation of the original.
