@911Revisionist@Paola_diago73 So people had a lot of calls dropped in NYC where there was a lot of tower switching.
People had success leaving short messages in PA where there were less towers.
I remember flying then. You could make calls.
The evidence matches the narrative here.
@911Revisionist@Paola_diago73 Analog and Digital Networks: In 2001, older analog networks (AMPS) had stronger signal transmitters and tended to reach further than early digital systems, though keeping a signal was highly intermittent
@911Revisionist@Paola_diago73 To make a cell phone call in 2001, you would need to be flying below 1,000 to 10,000 feet (typically during ascent, descent, or severe low-altitude flying)
@GSurreycanucks@Ms_NYRangers@whittakertp 2 conference finals recently ruined?
Those words are rich coming from a Canucks fan!
Bet: Rangers reach 2nd round of playoffs before the Canucks do.
@samrosenszn Reminds me of what I called “coffee day” -12/16/20. Like the plastic coffee lids that also say 12/16/20 representing ounces.
It was not a “big hit” joke, at work, or at the bar. Did get a few chuckles though.
@rep_movsd@C_S_Skeptic@BS_2A_Absolute@shahh The US literally goes to war over the strength of the dollar all the time. For oil. For trade deals. For natural resources to boost the economy.
