I think I realized that old school friend and relationship status boxes don’t really exist. Each human relationship is a completely unique, nuanced mix of boundaries and emotional depth based on our responses to each other. And historically, creating names and rules for them has been a shit show.

Getting invited is usually the main thing. So be happy to know you are valued and loved and chosen to witness it by them. The seating part is the crazy families’ issue and fluid as RSVPs come in. I don’t recommend reading into it. My table made no sense at my own cousin’s wedding. But I met cool new peeps!
