Stop living in competition and start living for cooperation, otherwise, you will never attain completion. You want to be the first to marry amongst your siblings, the first to get a job in your circle of friends, the one who gets promoted among your colleagues, etc. While there is nothing wrong with wanting the best, life can be very tedious if you always want to be the first to have the best before the rest. Because it can happen sometimes, but not every time. And that is when you start seeing innocent siblings, friends, colleagues and neighbours as enemies. Because competition has made your mind so warped that you think they got there first at your expense, because it should have been you, not them.

There is a difference between being alone and being lonely. Being alone has nothing to do with loneliness. In fact, you can't be lonely when you are alone. Loneliness requires the presence of other people. What causes loneliness is being around people and feeling disconnected from them. Loneliness is not a reason to marry. The best cure for loneliness is to learn to love yourself and build up your self-esteem, such that you like yourself to the extent that you don't get affected if others don't like you. But if you marry out of loneliness, your neediness will make your marriage meaningless.

Meet Prof. Auwal – The Paediatric Surgeon Behind Six Successful Conjoined Twin Separation Surgeries in Adamawa

Prof. Mohammed Auwal is a Professor of Paediatric Surgery and the lead surgeon behind six successful conjoined twin separation surgeries in Adamawa State.

He is the former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yola, Adamawa State, North-East Nigeria.

He remains actively involved in highly specialized paediatric surgery and continues to lead complex surgical procedures.

He successfully led the separation of a set of conjoined twins at the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, and has been widely recognized as the lead surgeon behind the institution's six successful conjoined twin separation surgeries.

Kai Cenat visited Nigeria for the second time this year and said Nigeria is one of his best-ever destinations.

Ashton Hall was just in Nigeria, which he named his "favourite country in Africa", tagging Lagos the "African Miami."

James Dumoulin, founder of The School of Hard Knocks, came to Nigeria and gave our country a serious thumbs up after holding some of the best interviews in the series here, and said he'd return.

And 1.2 million tourists visited Lagos eight months ago during Detty December, which was the biggest tourist event in Africa.

Yet, you, a Nigerian, are constantly on social media badmouthing Nigeria. Listen, Nigeria is not a bad country. We are a highly sought-after country. It is you who have chosen to see bad in Nigeria. If you opened your eyes, you would likewise see what these foreigners see in Nigeria, which makes them bless the country you curse.

I've been hearing people say that STEM is nothing new and that Alex Onyia (@winexviv) is making too much noise about it as though it's a new concept.
Personally, I appreciate the noise he's making. Since he began advocating so passionately, at least three state governors have publicly recognized and rewarded outstanding academic achievers.

1. Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, welcomed STEM Olympiad gold medalist Chimdiebube Onwubiko to the Government House and rewarded the student generously.
2. Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, invited Michael Offorkaile, who placed fifth nationwide in JAMB 2026, to the Government House and pledged to support his further education.
3. Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, rewarded Team Nigeria gold champion Chinedu Great Okediachi with ₦20 million.

STEM winners came from different parts of the country, yet Enugu publicly celebrated its own. That happened because people made noise about academic excellence.
JAMB had top performers nationwide, yet Abia chose to honor its own high-achieving student. Again, public advocacy helped draw attention to academic success.

Global Spelling Bee champions also emerged from different states, but Delta celebrated its own champion. Once again, awareness and advocacy played a role.

We need to keep making this kind of noise until every state sees education as something worth celebrating and investing in, until rewarding academic excellence becomes as competitive as celebrating success in sports and entertainment.

Someone met me today and, after we were officially introduced, smiled and said, “Oh my goodness! You look much younger than the person we see on social media.” The funny part? No one in the room had recognized me as Sandra Duru until the introduction.

Then came the question: “What’s the secret?”

I smiled and answered, “Na Baba God oh, and I genuinely love life.”

The truth is, social media often captures only a fraction of who we are. Behind the scenes, I am probably the funniest, silliest, craziest, sweetest, simplest, and most loving version of myself. I laugh easily, tease freely, enjoy the little things, and find joy in ordinary moments.

Sugbon, do not mistake gentleness for weakness. I am equally firm in my convictions eehhhen! I am deeply principled, and intentionally protective of my peace, my boundaries, and my privacy. A flower can be soft to the touch and still grow through concrete.

Perhaps that is one of life’s greatest secrets, mbok. When your heart learns to carry joy, gratitude, and God, your spirit often wears a youthfulness that no mirror can fully explain.
