I see that @onlyconnectuk from 2009 is currently showing on BBC4 in the evenings this week. No Egyptian Hieroglyphs at this stage! When did they first appear I wonder? @VictoriaCoren
@rickedwards1 Ha! Brilliant Rick. It was a light hearted comment. I’m a huge 5 Live fan. Thanks for taking the time to respond. Thought you were superb, despite the ‘shaky’ start. Talk about unlucky! 🫣
@JohnnyTheNic VAR: “Check for offside”
“Looks ok” “Ok..check to see if there’s a foul” “Looks ok” “ Ok, go back a bit further to see if there’s anything else. There MUST be something we can find to disallow the goal” Four mins later…. “Damn, looks like we have to give it”
@F365@JohnnyTheNic I’m still a huge fan of BBC radio commentary. Ian Dennis, John Murray and Alistair Bruce-Ball all paint a picture of what’s happening. Good co comms as well. When I watch on TV, I just watch the game. Nothing before or after or in between. Heard it all before. Nothing new. Banal.
@JohnnyTheNic The interesting thing will be IF Spurs were to finish mid table winning nothing, will the fans and more importantly, the owners stick with it? I agree with you, so few teams win anything. All I want to see is exciting football.
@JohnnyTheNic Most football fans though are very fickle. Love it when their team win 4-3. Are critical when that same team playing the same way lose 3-6. I still maintain that if either Conte or Mourinho had won the league with Spurs playing boring football, they would be hailed as heroes.
@JohnnyTheNic They don’t know they’re born these days John! St. Ninian Park 1971 Scotland vs Wales in what was known back then as the Home Internationals.
