@kunalsh24040466 Oci players ki kaami nahi hai bhot hai kitne saare toh Under 18 hai second thing is sirf oci players it not the way uske sath grassroot/ system pr bi kaam Krna hoga that's how indian football will grow... isiliye pura tweet padh liya kro before commenting
Ranjit Bajaj Take on Oci/pio is horrendous and with respect i completely disagree❌
OCI/PIO players are NOT the long term solution.. but they ARE part of the solution✅
The AIFF has failed Indian football for years. Our grassroots system..coaching structure and player development haven't improved enough.. and that's exactly why we're in this position. Instead of fixing the system.. we are debating whether to reject players who can strengthen our national team today.
As ranjit bajaj said we have millions footballers here....Then where are the results? We lose against Bangladesh and Singapore..failed to qualify for asian cup.. .. Our Legend Sunil chetri had to come out of retirement just because we didn't had a single reliable striker for national team and on the other side we have shaan hundal ...andre lacximicant and many more forget about FIFA World Cup.. we failed to qualify for asian cup and Ironically.. Bangladesh themselves have benefited from overseas origin players and not to mention they defeated us using origin players

@PhantomriderxX Spot on... It’s a backward mindset
South Asian countries don't have the grassroots infrastructure to compete globally yet..which is exactly why we need OCI players more than anything at this point..
This counters the "other countries' shit comment by pointing out how global football actually works right now..
Every top footballing nation utilizes its diaspora...it’s not 'other countries' shit,' they are literally of Indian origin .. Look at Morocco.. Croatia..or even European nations..They fix their grassroots AND use their diaspora simultaneously. Why choose one when you can do both...and talking about the youth from decades we have been learning still there isn't a single positive thing ...oci/pio players in the national team + fixing the grassroot/system is the way for indian football to grow

Stronger eligible players raise the standard of the national team.. A stronger national team attracts more fans..more sponsors..more media attention and ultimately more investment into Indian football. If we want the ISL and Indian football to gain global recognition..the national team has to perform first and for that we need oci/pio players in the team
Yes We should fix the grassroots and improve the system.... But rejecting OCI/PIO players while waiting 15-20 years for the system to improve makes no sense not to mention itne saalo se system hi sudhar raha hai😂
The best football nations use both... develop local talent AND utilise their diaspora... Many nation currently in the world cup are using origin players as well as fixing the system india should do the same
And as for "bleeding blue" comment that is not determined by birthplace.. It's determined by what a player gives on the pitch...And I am very sure that our origin players will actually fight for the badge unlike our indian players who loses tk Bangladesh Singapore and still no accountability..I may sound harsh but it is what it is ...We need oci/ pio players in the national team more than anything at this point
@creativerse005 Absolutely bro it's just a matter of time when Bangladesh will be ahead of India in rankings and every competition if we don't get oci / pio in our team
Destroying Infrastructure = Destroying the Future of Indian Football 🚨
Reposting this crucial breakdown by (@HopelessFanASM) regarding the BMC and state government's decision to convert the iconic Neville D’Souza Football Ground in Bandra into a convention/exhibition center.
The Neville D'Souza Ground isn’t just a plot of land.. it is a vital hub for the sport in Mumbai... From grassroots development to youth leagues and grassroot this pitch hosts every level of competitive football. .In fact..many of our national team stars have honed their skills right on this turf
Indian football is already facing an uphill battle and struggling to grow. We have a severe shortage of quality.. dedicated football facilities as it is... If the authorities continue to destroy the few proper grounds we have left to build exhibition centres,.. then God save football in this country...
We strongly urge the authorities to listen to the public, the players, and the community. Save the ground.
