I had to move from Sat to Fri to find any decent seats available.

In terms of supply and demand I think the pricing is understandable, that's not to say it's fair.

@tachiai_blog Yeh I think Asakusa can get written off as too touristy... But walk 5 mins in any direction from the main drag and it's quiet back alleys, so atmospheric at night.

kappabashi is amazing too, I'd love to get back just to fill my kitchen full of more unnecessary paraphernalia

@tachiai_blog We've been to Tokyo half a dozen times and always either Ueno or Asakusa (walkable between the two, both great) or downtown Shinjuku for the full immersion busyness.

@tachiai_blog Bonus Asakusa is walkable to Ryoguku - lovely atmosphere on evening too. It's touristy but hey ho if you want to be among the sites it's going to be touristy!
