The end of Hockey Night in Canada is more than just the end of a television show.
Hockey Night in Canada was something uniquely Canadian.
Now it is gone.
A piece of our cultural tapestry now in the dustbin of history.
The free market doesnโt care about everyday peopleโit cares about profit, and thatโs exactly why weโre in this mess. We need strong government intervention to protect the people the market leaves behind, instead of the hands-off approach backed by Scott and the @CPC_HQ.
@CPC_HQ claim:
"We are the party of working families!"
Okay, let's look at the record
Voted NO to Dental Care for kids (C-31)
Voted NO to National School Food (C-322)
Voted NO to Pharmacare/Contraception (C-64)
Don't listen to what they say. Watch how they vote.

@jamiljivani What is a Canadian? Did not Canada build itself up with the sweat of many different immigrants from many different cultures? Time to celebrate them!
@KlaeTaurus@shuvmajumdar@AndrewLawton What did you say? Slavery is profitable?
And yet the previous Conservative government signed a 31 yr investment deal with "slave owners".

"The suffering of a disabled person only matters when they want to die, but not when they want to live"
@Reuters Sounds murky and raises more questions than answers. Next we'll find out Kushner and Witkoff will manage the fund for 1% per year ($30 million).
@ScottAAitchison You going to post this every day? As I said previously, the roadblocks are municipal and the Federal Housing Accelerator Fund has required municipalities to drop some of their fees and regulations to make it easier. I know this because we are in the housing industry.
Fun fact:
The broadcast starts with an audio clip of Foster Hewitt saying "Hello Canada, and hockey fans in the United States and Newfoundland," because the show has been on so long that when it started, Newfoundland wasn't part of Canada yet.
You don't know what you got until its gone.

@leftcoastbabe@poetsmom The thing is, the deal was that Canada pays for the bridge.
Then Canada gets 100% of the tolls until the bridge is paid off.
Then once it is, the ownership and the toll revenue is split 50/50 with the U.S.
So America WILL get 50% ownership, eventually, just not right now.

or
Iโm really tired of Pierre Poilievre telling all the old folk how dangerous and divided Canada is.
