One thing India rarely gets credit for:

The world has witnessed fuel disruptions due to wars, sanctions, shipping bottlenecks, and geopolitical tensions.

Many countries have faced shortages of petrol, diesel, or LPG.

Yet in India, despite being one of the world’s largest energy importers, fuel availability has remained largely uninterrupted, with only occasional local disruptions.

Behind this is a massive logistics network, diversified crude sourcing, expanding refinery capacity, strategic planning, and the efforts of thousands of people working across the supply chain.

We often notice fuel prices.

We rarely appreciate the system that ensures fuel is available whenever we need it.

That’s an underrated strength of India’s energy ecosystem.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೃಷಿ ಭೂಮಿ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಅನ್ನುವ ನಿಯಮ ಯಡ್ಯೂರಪ್ಪ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಬಹಳ ವಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಖುಷಿ ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೆ. ನಾವು ಬಿಡುಗಾಸು ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಮೂರ್ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲೇ ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಪಕ್ಕದ ಹೊಸಕೋಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾರಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಸೇರಿದ್ದರು. ನಮಗೆ ಹಳೆಯ ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಪಾಣಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ , ಯಾವ ಪತ್ರಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ಭೂಮಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಆಗುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಈಗ ಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದು ಅಂತ.

ಆದರೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದೆ ಬೇರೆ. ಹಣವಂತರು ದೇಶದ ನಾನಾಭಾಗಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದು ಎಕರೆಗಟ್ಟಲೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅವರ ಹಣಬಲದ ಸುನಾಮಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಲು ತಿಂಗಳ ಸಂಬಳ ನೆಚ್ಚಿ ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡುವ ನನ್ನಂತಹ ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಭೂಮಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಬಹುತೇಕ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಕೈ ಸೇರಿಲ್ಲ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭೂಮಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಪರರ ಕೈ ಸೇರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇಂತಹ irreversible damage ಆಗಿದ್ದು ದುರಂತ.
