Nigel Farage is a grifter. He always has been and he's continuing to grift.
He knew he was heading towards a byelection anyway so has pulled the trigger early.
The people Vs the establishment?! Reform are literally part of the establishment.
I was just reading about this. To me, it makes matters considerably worse.
The issue is no longer simply whether the original red card was justified. It is whether FIFA has undermined the integrity of the World Cup, and its own authority as the global regulator of football, by appearing either to invent a procedure or, at the very least, to apply its rules in a wholly unprecedented way, against a backdrop of acknowledged political pressure, while refusing to give reasons and seemingly leaving the decision with no meaningful avenue of challenge.
As someone committed to sporting integrity, transparency, fairness and the rule of law in sport, if the reports of what has happened are accurate, I find this deeply troubling.
For years I have represented players and others facing lengthy bans for betting offences where there has been no suggestion whatsoever of match manipulation, because the governing bodies, including FIFA, have consistently argued that preserving confidence in the integrity of the sport requires robust and uncompromising enforcement.
If that is the standard expected of participants, the regulator itself must be held to at least the same standard. If the reports are accurate, this decision, and the consequences for FIFA, could prove to be truly seismic, eclipsing the controversy about the red card itself.

Dear @EnvAgency.
In February this year, after 4 years of asking you to look after the Aldersbrook, I led a team of volunteers to do your job for you & clean out tonnes of silt & leaves, as well as hundreds of bags of rubbish. Through the effort of community volunteers & donations, & at zero cost to the taxpayer, we turned a forgotten silted up ditch back into a river again.
Last nights intense rain storm showed why our actions are the very definition of “strengthening water resilience”. A huge amount of rain fell in a short time, but the restored section of the Aldersbrook has been able to hold 100’s of thousands of litres more water, stopping this water running into the Roding, & thereby *reducing* local flood risk. The first photograph below is of the Aldersbrook after the rains this morning- a big contrast to the area before we did the work.
Perhaps more importantly, this water, instead of running straight off into the Roding & hence the sea is now being held in the Aldersbrook & gradually released so it can be used by nature. It is feeding marshes, trees & wildlife, topping up groundwater & helping to reduce our flood/drought cycle. If you want to strengthen water resilience, we need thousands more projects like the Aldersbrook around the country.
So the question I ask you, Environment Agency, is why you are threatening me with two years imprisonment, rather than offering to meet & discuss how we can work together to restore the Roding & its tributaries, which could become a blueprint for you cooperating with local river guardians nationwide?
We are being asked to accept that Keir Starmer was a principled politician who rescued Labour from oblivion before being destroyed by the media. Wrong. To understand why he fell Starmer only needs to look at the mirror. My column for Middle East Eye:

Bills up.
Wages too low.
Record profits for Oil & Gas.
50 richest families with more wealth than 50% of population.
Shit in our rivers.
Pensioners jailed for protesting.
Migrants thrown under the bus.
Supporting a Genocide.
That's Starmer's legacy.
Keir Starmer could have ended child poverty, homelessness and the grotesque levels of inequality in this country.
Instead, he abandoned those in need, destroyed our civil liberties and facilitated genocide in Gaza.
That is how this Prime Minister will be remembered - and that is the legacy of moral and political bankruptcy he leaves behind.
The crises in our society are not going away. Neither are we - and we will keep fighting for a more equal, peaceful and dignified society for all.
The vested interests that are holding this country back need to be confronted, with wealth taxes on the super rich, utilities taken into public ownership, rent controls and affordable housing, and an end to support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza. (2/5)
Our country needs a bold change of direction. Starmer lost the confidence of the country because of his abject failure to challenge the power and wealth of an establishment which has taken for themselves while leaving the vast majority in a cost of living crisis. (1/5)
Not only does Joe Root have more Test runs than the rest of England's XI combined, he also has the most Test wickets in the side. The previous player to achieve this double was Martin Crowe in 1994 🤯
This is absolutely insane.
The suffragettes used far more extreme tactics than Palestine Action.
They planted bombs, burned down private homes and smashed up art galleries.
They killed five people!
Her outrageous judgement is based on absurd historical ignorance.
Gut wrenching to see four young people jailed for direct action against an arms supplier to Israel.
Years in prison for protesting to save lives in Gaza, with 'terrorism' used despite no jury convicting them of it.
A truly dangerous attack on the right to protest.
3 of the 4 people didn’t attack the police officer and all of the 4 were cleared of violent intent. So the only disgrace here is the lie you’re telling to justify a clear miscarriage of justice & the use of anti-terror laws to justify your government’s complicity in a genocide.
Elon Musk can say what he likes about me but I won't stay silent whilst foreign tech billionaires, money earned off the backs of real workers, try to interfere in our democracy, incite violence in our communities and tear apart our country.
Time for him to pipe down.
These aren't protests. They're racist riots. And it's time for the government to take them seriously.
The PM should be convening COBRA and setting out a real plan to end this horrific violence and bring communities together.
Now is a time for real leadership.
If there is a group that doesn't deserve thugs terrorising its streets it is the people of Belfast. Their city bears the scars of decades of violence and unrest. Shame on the louts subjecting them to more and the cretins encouraging them.
