We're looking at the potential for nearly 84 consecutive hours of below zero temperatures in the Sioux Falls area this week.
It this happens, it would be one of the longest such streaks in February, and top 10 longest all year. Hourly records in this case date back to 1942.
Concern continues to grow for heavy rainfall and resultant flooding issues over the next 48 hours. A level 3 out of 4 risk of excessive rainfall is in effect for portions of the region tonight and again Friday night.
