@helenmallam Yes, and #r4today, how come demonstrations of half a million people about oil or Gaza get no coverage, but when your mates the farmers do something you're all over it like a rash.
My book 'How to do your literature review' will be out next month. If you'd like a free e-inspection copy please DM me with your name, email address and institution.
@helenmallam How does Liz 4% Kendall get to a position where she's able to on pontificate on how the rest of us live? If they want to know why the public has lost faith in politics they should look to decisions about how people like her are promoted.
The opportunities and life chances of a child born today are strongly linked to their parents’ socioeconomic background.

This blogpost is really worth reading. Gove expanded the issuing of penalties for non-attendance. But there is no reason for a draconian insistence on school attendance: there is no evidence that more attendance = better outcomes. New govt should undo Gove's macho showmanship.
Fines for term-time holidays are back in the news. Fixed penalties were introduced by Labour in 2003 to deal with persistent absences, Gove changed this to cover any absence, but as I argue here, without proper parliamentary scrutiny. https://t.co/yzkemY7rMj
