Floodcoated the crane backer. It'll be floating. Not sure if I'll frame around the oak slats yet. Light shaping on the sunglasses and tested some black acrylic on it to see how it'll look. Small steps.
@natalie_zaher Gotta start somewhere. May as well be a blockchain that has all the bases covered. They can always shift over after they hit dead ends on other platforms that haven't thought of hyper detailed aspects of a digital echosystem with freedom of the individual as the driving force.
Thought I'd consolidate some pieces on the wall of my garage to motivate me a bit. Will have to get into some smaller things to fill the gaps. I have more but these should do since I have no more space.
Wanted the backer to be cool but dull so it doesn't distract from the Crane. I tried to paint the cattails and marsh grass in acrylic so I could dull it down a bit. going to do a light clear floodcoat on the Crane to bring everything out.
Keeping the sky and lake a darker stained glass to pop the crane. Hard to see by this but the sky is slightly lighter in color than the lake. Background woods will be dark. Might try acrylic paint before making a second carving pass on the backer cattails and foliage.
@natalie_zaher It's been tried before but the echosystem in this attempt is perfected before flashy drawings of futuristic buildings. The foothold has the best chance ever
@CraneInCrisis Yes! Very close. If I decide on a backer piece in stained glass it'll be a while. Thinking of woods or a swamp with a rising sun. Still on the fence.
Little tricky cutting this out since it's so big. If you keep some of the cut pieces in place and just tape over them it helps keep the fragile areas from breaking. Needs a cool backer piece now.
This Sandhill Crane Vitrail Epoxy Inlay 3rd detail layer really improved it by lightening things up the way I was hoping. All the wood will get carefully cut out if I can get my scrollsaw working again.
