Nope. Government revenues regularly break annual records and the spending goes even higher. Giving politicians (who have every incentive for short term action in order to get re-elected and then leave the next guy with the bill) even more money to spend doesn’t somehow change their incentives. As long as politicians know that their popularity hinges on spending more of other peoples’ money, they will continue to spend more of other peoples’ money. 🤷‍♂️
