My favorite author @neilhimself is coming to St. Louis on Thursday. 30 years ago Neil came to St. Louis & I won a contest to meet him. It was a life changing event and I’m hoping @twitter can help me do it again. Join me for a 🧵about the wonder that is meeting Neil Gaiman:
Have you ever said something that was so funny, the person actually forgot to laugh? They just totally forgot to laugh! You have to be pretty funny to do that.
Movie Idea: Baseball team goes on a 13 game winning streak and then suddenly players start mysteriously dying. It's Final Destination meets Eight Men Out. I'm calling it "13 Game Losing Streak."
13 yr old: Please, can we listen to something else today?
Me: I didn't make the rules.
13 yr old: You are the one that said we had to only play ska music and we have to call this Skaturday.
Me: Oh that's right.
13 yr old: ...
Me: Hey Siri, play Skankin' Pickle.
@TheEricSpiegel Dave is guy over here making the argument that The Monkees are on the list of greatest rock trios. I count 4 members of the Monkees, Dave. Oh, so you think the Monkees after Mike Nesmith left should be on the list? Dave!
When we’re talking greatest rock trio, the assumption is your classic bass, drums, guitar act. So you have your Creams, your Nirvanas, and your Jimi Hendrix Experiences in the conversation. But what people often forget is trio just means 3 people.
Get the fuck out of here, Dave. The Who has 4 members. They can’t be considered a rock trio. Did you want to make the case for R.E.M. after Bill Berry left. I’ll call you a damn fool, but at least they were a trio. But they did have guest drummers? I don’t know, Dave.
So you can add the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to the conversation. And if you wanted to, bring in Ben Folds Five. But, I’m sorry Dave, The Who is not a trio. Yes, they have bass, drums, guitar. But are you trying to tell me Daltrey doesn’t add to the sound of The Who?
If for some reason, you need proof that I'm a 43 yr old white straight cis male, I will confess that I just did a run sess while listening to Rancid's "And Out Come the Wolves..."
The hit 1990s TV comedy series "Frasier," starring Kelsey Grammer, is getting a reboot.
Grammer said he would reprise his role and will focus on "the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane." https://t.co/QKwF8Mv2Ku
