Papa of 3 kids & 6 nonfiction books, including The Last Pass & Where Peachtree Meets Sweet Auburn. Stanford University lecturer. A journalist, proudly.
3 hours on camera for an upcoming @HBO doc on the @celtics. Most questions were drawn from my book, THE LAST PASS, about Russ & Cooz and their years of empire. @NBA
We’re on the red carpet last night with Corporate Bro, the artist formerly known as Our Eldest. Ross lit up the big screen in SF with SALES ARE DOPE, his 8-episode Season 1. Check it out on YouTube.
As I researched my book Their Life’s Work about the 1970s @steelers, former teammates needed to know if I’d yet interviewed #FrancoHarris. Once I had, they agreed to talk to me. Franco was that respected, that loved. Classy, wonderful guy. #MrPittsburgh
“I just say to myself, ‘Make Litwack proud.’” 🌟
At a @UCBerkeley Library talk, journalist and author Gary M. Pomerantz spoke about writing, the Celtics, and the teaching “giants” who inspired him at Cal.
Here are 3 things we learned.

So proud to speak @ my alma mater, @UCBerkeley to 200 library donors.I loved being intro’d as ‘former sports editor of the @dailycal.’ My topic, The Enduring Legacy of a Great Teacher, celebrated my History profs Leon Litwack & Larry Levine, campus legends #Emotional@UCBHistory

Dear Professor @jmwooldridge, It’s true that, for our coed team, I chose the name — The Smiths. Don’t forget, I also chose our second basewoman, now my bride of 37 1/2 years.
Given the sad news, it's unsurprising "The Smiths" is trending. For the record, my softball team at Cal in 1981 was called The Smiths -- after the landlord of the apartment building most of us occupied. Pretty sure @garympomerantz chose the name. The Smiths band formed in 1982.
Looking forward to participating in this Nov 15 event at @Stanford. Has it really been 40 years since The Play? 40 yrs since the trombonist @GaryTyrrell got pancaked? 40 yrs since the fake @dailycal filled the Sproul racks? Thanks to @tegbridges new book, there is much to discuss
40 years? Yes, 40 years! Attend in person, or virtually, and re-live the glory and pain of the 85th Big Game, with @FarmHistory, @tegbridges, @garympomerantz, and an all-star panel. Tuesday, November 15, 2022, 4:30 PM PST https://t.co/7dF5D5xMdC
Such a joy to spend time on Fri with staffers at my alma mater, the @dailycal. The Daily Cal has existed since US Grant was president. With this energetic bunch, it’s in good hands. @UCBerkeley@RaineyTime
Every @steelers fan should read @garympomerantz’s book.
It’s entertaining, hilarious and explains how the Pittsburgh Steelers have operated their franchise for generations. 🏈🖤💛 #HereWeGo
Exactly one week after she turned 100, Rachel Robinson — with help from son David — cut the ribbon during the ceremonial opening of her late husband’s museum in Manhattan. The Jackie Robinson Museum is finally open.
