@TalkTalk No thanks. It's very generous that I'm allowed to leave a contract which you unilaterally broke, in a matter in which you previously guaranteed you would not, though.
Why did I get an update from @TalkTalk reaffirming "the guarantee of no mid-contract broadband price rises" in September and now they have an 8.5% mid-contract price hike? If only @Ofcom did anything useful.
@TalkTalk I know, that's why I said you need to be BETTER regulated. Lying to customers and hiding behind "it's ok, it's legal and also we found it hard, please have sympathy on us" is pathetic.
@TalkTalk Fine print hidden in the T&Cs of unfair contracts always supercede an email update from the CEO providing a guarantee, right? This is why you guys need to be better regulated, since you can't be trusted.
@Ofcom@TalkTalk I can't think of a single other industry which, by standard, has >1 year contracts with punitive early termination fees but also has mid-contract price hikes. These 'protections' are basic, given their breach of contract - you choose to facilitate it, rather than regulate it.

@CP_UK_Woburn Why does no one else understand that there will be no refunds because "we have your money and we want to keep it". I'm with you @CP_UK_Woburn, it doesn't matter that customers can't use what they've paid for, because they've already paid for it. Basic tenant of (bad) business.
@Ofcom If only someone could force better customer care on premium charges, such as enforcing the charges are explicitly accepted first. If only the communications industry was regulated!
@Ofcom Myth: contracts are fair and set the terms. Busted: they can't be changed or broken by customers without a hefty penalty but the company can change it as they please, including the cost.
Myth: Ofcom regulates. Busted: after years of shady unilateral practices, they continue.
@10DowningStreet Sales have increased since they weren't on sale before. Use has not significantly reduced since people still use plastic bags, they just reuse them-which is where the benefit is. But what are the stats of the reuse less those who previously reused them instead of buying binbags?
@bhosch285 @RupertsRupees @j3nnard @HamillHimself Luke's family was clearly sand people. Alderaan was freak tectonic activity. Captain America fought his friends because he didn't want to be accountable to an array of democratic nations, preferring keeping all the power for himself. Rebel scum.
@cenkuygur But a few million people directly got cash from the tax cuts. Those who didn't might consider blaming their employer. And a few more (such as people with investments eg pension, or those who are economically active, or not) would have benefited indirectly too. Maybe say more?
@Ofcom Wow, it only took a few days for you to be concerned, it's almost like you're looking out for consumer interests! Don't stop there, I'm sure a regulator could encourage a resolution.
