One component of Malignant Narcissism is SADISM. People don’t fathom how deeply Trump is driven by it. In normal people, those types of impulses are offset by caring emotion. Trump has none. He is a Black Hole. He enjoys chaos and actually takes glee from others' suffering.
He defames women he's raped. He pokes fun at others' disabilities. He loves peddling fear. He enjoys inducing outrage. He makes threats - multiple times a day, every single day. He sees enemies in ALL conflict and disagreement, and he sees it as part of a zero-sum game - where he has to win AND they have to lose - and he enjoys both, which is a sadistic posture.
Of course, he didn't care when he botched Covid and it led to massive unnecessary deaths. Of course, he didn't care when he bombed 170 Iranian schoolchildren and rationalized it as an acceptable casualty of war. And of course, he JUST YESETRDAY cancelled plans to sign a bipartisan housing bill to benefit Americans, preferring to dangle the humanitarian benefit for additional partisan gain.
BECAUSE -
He doesn't care about humanitarian consequence.
He literally doesn't feel empathy, shame, or contrition.
He sees his lack of empathy as negotiating advantage.
AND - let's NEVER forget - he didn't just foment an insurrection, he savored it - even more so as it grew violent.
He is The Joker.
