Today has felt so somber since I read his post on IG.
A lot of what I’m about to say may sound silly to those who didn’t live through this era, but this guy was such a huge part of my childhood, that it actually feels like a piece of it is leaving with him.
Many from my generation can relate to me when I say that during some of the hardest moments of my life…Leo was there.
I always looked forward to watching him play every few days and it motivated me to look forward to the next day…to the next game of his that I could watch.
It always put a smile on my face to watch him play.
And the lows alongside him…those felt as strongly as the highs did, but there was always this optimism inside that he would get back up and keep pushing forward, which motivated me to do the same.
Knowing that he won’t be pushing forward is heartbreaking, but we all knew that this time was going to come sooner or later and I’m just grateful that it was much later than most expected.
Messi is probably the closest to a real life superhero that most of us ever experienced, and we will likely never experience anyone like him again.
Words will never be able to express the love and gratitude that many of us have for you.

🔸️O túnel do carpo é um espaço restrito e elíptico; confinado ventralmente pelo retináculo dos flexores - inelástico e resistente; e dorsalmente pela superfície anterior dos ossos do carpo. No túnel do carpo passam quatro tendões flexores superficiais e quatro tendões flexores profundos dos dedos, o tendão flexor longo do polegar e o nervo mediano.

🔸️O nervo mediano percorre o trajeto dentro do túnel de modo anterior aos tendões flexores superficiais, de maneira que fica suscetível à compressão caso ocorra qualquer aumento de pressão dentro do túnel.

🔹️A síndrome do túnel do carpo é definida pela compressão do nervo mediano no punho. É a mais frequente das síndromes compressivas e a neuropatia de maior incidência da extremidade superior. Ainda que as regressões espontâneas sejam possíveis, o agravamento dos sintomas é a regra. O diagnóstico é, acima de tudo, clínico pelos sintomas e testes provocativos.

🔹️A causa idiopática (doença com origem desconhecida ou sem causa aparente) é a mais comum para a condição.

🔹️Entre os fatores de riscos, os ambientais são os mais significativos para o desencadeamento da neuropatia, principalmente quando relacionados com as ocupações: realização de grandes esforços em atividades de carregamento manual de cargas e de tarefas com posturas incorretas, estresse e movimentos repetitivos.

🔹️Clinicamente, a síndrome do túnel do carpo repercute, classicamente, com sintomas de dor e, sobretudo, de parestesia (sensações como formigamento e dormência) no território inervado pelo mediano, que corresponde à face volar do polegar 2⁰, 3⁰ e metade radial do 4⁰ quirodáctilo.
