'The failure of the British state needs to be addressed.'
Robbie Moore MP urges Keir Starmer to 'change course' on his tackling of the grooming gangs. He says the five new locally-led inquiries 'isn't enough'.
I am completed incensed.
I have just been to an event in Keighley and a former Lord Mayor of Bradford, who is now a retired Labour Councillor previously on Bradford Council representing part of Keighley came up to me and said ‘I need to stop talking about these grooming gangs and stop making an issue of it.’
An absolutely astonishing comment to make.
All this on the day after we learn that 8 British Pakistani men from Keighley have been given jail sentences of nearly 58 years for multiple rape and sexual offences against two children in Keighley back in the late 1990s.
The victims were young females aged between 13 and 16 at the time.
Now more than ever am I convinced we need an Inquiry into grooming gangs across Keighley and the wider Bradford District.
I will not stop until the rot is hollowed out.
🐄🐄 🥛🇬🇧 Great to attend the @dairyuk event in Parliament this morning talking about the role of dairy in sustainable food systems and how dairy is the bedrock of a sustainable diet.
Supporting the dairy industry is vital for the health of our nation.
This evening in Parliament, I presented our public petition opposing @bradfordmdc’s recent choice to introduce parking charges at our iconic Ilkley Lido impacting users & @OlicanianCC — a shocking move which singles out our town & shows clear contempt for local taxpayers.
Over £24 million! - @bradfordmdc and the @WestYorkshireCA must be having a laugh - I thought this was a joke when I first read it!
All we want is a safe crossing over an exceptionally busy dual carriageway - before someone gets killed.
Bradford Live has become a multimillion pound symbol of @bradfordmdc mismanagement.
Under no scenario should taxpayers be forced to spend penny more on this project whilst Labour leaders in Bradford raise taxes & slash essential services.

Proposal to build 65 wind turbines on Brontë Country is completely wrong.
It threatens protected peatland, our most valuable carbon store.
Conservatives rightly placed moratorium on onshore wind farms.
Labour have lifted it, a decision that has dire environmental consequences.
🇬🇧 With @SteveBarclay, the Shadow Sec of State for DEFRA, it was great to meet in Parliament with the NFU Team this #BackBritishFarmingDay.
The farming community needs clarity right now from our new Lab Gov on whether they will commit to maintain, if not enhance farming budget.
🥀 Labour Gov may speak of tough choices, but after today’s vote, the real tough choice will be for pensioners on whether to heat their homes or put food on their plates.
Labour’s decision to scrap the Winter Fuel Payment is not just a fiscal misstep; it’s a moral failing.
🇬🇧Farmers are the lifeblood of our rural economy. They work around the clock to put great quality food on our plates.
That’s why this #BackBritishFarmingDay - it is vital our new Labour Gov commit to maintain, if not enhance farming budget to provide certainty our farmers need.
I was at the count where Anna was elected. She promised to represent everyone in Shipley in her victory speech.
I’m not sure people had this in mind when ‘change’ was promised?
Approx 64,000 pensioners across Bradford District will be directly impacted as a result of Labour’s cruel decision to remove Winter Fuel Allowance.
Shipley’s Labour MP @annalouisedixon was ONLY MP in District to vote to scrap this vital support.
I voted AGAINST these measures.
🥀 Labour’s cruel plan to scrap Winter Fuel Allowance will impact approx 64,000 pensioners across Bradford District.
Only way stand against Labour’s outrageous plan is to vote against it - not abstain.
I will be voting against.
I only hope other Bradford District MPs do same.
❄️🥀 Approx 64,000 pensioners across Bradford District will be directly impacted by Labour’s ridiculous plans to scrap Winter Fuel Payment.
I will be voting against Labour’s measures on Tue - and I only hope the other Bradford District MPs do the same.
