Ben Horowitz drops $46B worth of hard truths:
Success is stacking tough choices, not one big win
Leaders run toward fear, not away from it
CEOs win by surrounding themselves with people who make them better

Oracle’s $300B deal with OpenAI will demand 4.5 GW of power - more than two Hoover Dams. OpenAI makes ~$10B a year but will owe ~$60B annually. Oracle is betting big that AI demand will explode. Visionary or reckless?

@SamsungUS I wish I could put my Samsung Ultra, my 3 watches, by 3 headphones, the 2 TVs and sent it all to KS Choi... Loyalty is worth nothing to Samsung when one needs technical support.
@SamsungUS At this point don't know what is worse, the hardware for failing after 1 week or Samsung Care for torturing me for hours asking me to repeat the order #, my name, my address and going in a infinite loop that only Bill Murray can understand... in Samsung Groundhog day.
@SamsungUS Sincerely, feels like I am being tortured for my loyalty to Samsung. Still couldn't get help, not any decent support... And the Buds3 are unusable. And now I can't have them replaced because it's been 15 days since arrival... But for 3 days could not get support.
@SamsungUS I have tried reaching technical support for 3 days, this Saturday I've spent 1h20min on their call center only to be rerouted 5 times, 4 of them back to the very beginning of the same queue, another to Samsung Home Appliances...
@SamsungUS Device worked for only 7 days after arriving and after that the left-side bud stopped working and only hisses a low sound indicated the speaker is broken. Seems like a manufacturing defect. t. I have tried for 3 days getting support unsuccessfully.
Of course, founders aren’t perfect.
But, how about giving some advice from a place of love?
That works for me 98% of the time.
This has never crossed the minds of a Mob investor; they only know power.
It’s RIDICULOUS that old-school investors still try for control.
By doing so they create hostile situations,
Make it miserable to build with them,
And then completely f*cking the company and the team.
Some examples?
Founders Fund, A16Z, DST, Tiger, Untitled, Tribe, Hedosophia, SOMA, Human Capital, Westcap, General Atlantic, BlackRock.
Ironically, most of the hedge fund & crossover investors too.
I’m sure I missed some...
