When I speak on campus, I ask what % of the pro-Palestine protesters are Jewish. Usually, Jews are overrepresented. Sometimes they're the largest identity group. Maybe folks calling for cracking down on protesters in the name of Jewish safety should consider their safety too
The radicalized right-wing Supreme Court, untethered from facts and logic, just hurt tens of millions of Americans. Cue the mainstream media explaining how we should actually be angry at Biden, not this court and the people who made it this extreme.
Calling out
- corporations that profit off the queer community by selling pride merch, and
- corporations that bow to the homophobic right by pulling pride merch
is the SAME callout: these companies are fair-weather friends.
If she had asked a colleague what to do, she could’ve gotten a fuller list of alternatives and that colleague’s rankings. It’s unreasonable for the colleague to say “I expect you to pay to feed the janitor,” but they might say “I’d rather you fed no one than fire the janitor.”
This advice is absurd. If you steal from your place of employment, you get fired. Also, you are not ethically obligated to help someone steal from you. Even if they “deserve” it more. https://t.co/68ggfh7KPA
When someone walks disorderly, first you communicate with them alone, which she did. But she skipped the next step, which is to bring in a trusted friend or two. Reporting to the boss is the equivalent of going to the whole community, which is the last resort.
“if a union strikes, it has to ensure the company won't lose any money”
Do company actions have to ensure workers won’t lose any money? Of course not.
Union power must counter company monopsony power lest the company extract rent.

Media, stop saying the right banned “discussing sexuality in school.” They banned discussing *non-straight* sexuality.
If “I went to the store with mom & dad” is legal, but “I went to the store with my two moms” is illegal, then you’re banning discussing non-straight sexuality.
Why is the right working so hard to destroy education in America? Maybe making America stupider is literally the point. That’s not hyperbole, that’s historical fact: America is the only country known to have had anti-literacy laws. https://t.co/uRV4hq1nGB
Media is drawing the wrong conclusion from Bud Light. InBev CAPITULATED to the anti-trans right and was hammered anyway. Moral of story: don’t capitulate to the anti-trans right.
How much impunity are we talking. Would there be zero legal recourse if, say, a rogue CBP shot dead 100 US citizens waiting in line in their cars to cross back into NY from Canada? Yes or no question. https://t.co/Bo8NmLAdL3
Florida, for every claim that a book with a queer character is prohibited sexual content, file one claim that a book with a straight character is prohibited sexual content.
