Besides, if Kauan knows the prize is important for Kinich, he'll purposely lose just to make him happy, and what seems innocent at first can quickly turn sore as Kauan will ALWAYS subject himself to it, even if the prize involves something he doesn't wanna do or like.

One toxic trait in Kaunich is that Kinich has a competitive ego, but Kauan doesn't. If they compete with each other, Kinich will try to win at all cost, Kauan in the other end, will only try hard enough to give Kinich the challenge, since he doesn't mind if he wins or lose.
