@Curi_Christian You regularly use arguments from silence to justify your beliefs. Can't form dogmatic conclusions from silence. We do not know exactly how animals lived before the Fall. That timeframe was probably very short.
@Curi_Christian Of course. You ignore the comparative emphasis in Gn 3:14, which is very obvious in the Hb text. Animals are part of the Curse. To use today's behavior as proof of pre-Fall behavior ignores the impact of the Curse and assumes Uniformitarianism.
@Curi_Christian Gn 3:14 is referring not just to Satan but other animals as well. You wish to ignore that as it does not fit your assumptions requiring an old-earth belief.
@Curi_Christian Of course Gn 3:15 refers to the future Christ, but that is irrelevant to the issue, as is the skill of Satan through the snake. You do not know if other animals talked or not. Eve seems unsurprised that the snake talked. You ignore the text of Gn 3:14 using the "more than".
@Curi_Christian Can't use Biblical statements describing conditions after Gn 3 to assume they must have been before Gn 3. The events of Gn 3 change everything.
@Curi_Christian Any biblical description of animal behavior after Genesis 3 is a description of behavior after the Fall and sin. To push that behavior back in time to before Genesis 3 is biblically irresponsible and assumes a lot which the Bible does not discuss.
@TomBuck Because the SBC it’s more interested in drums and guitars and being contemporary with its music and mimicking popular culture. I say that as a former southern Baptist.
@Curi_Christian People who believe in a very old earth need death before sin in their attempt to explain the fossil record. A presupposition based on faulty science. I took geology in college and am familiar with the old Earth arguments.
@Curi_Christian Of course death spread to all mankind, because it did not exist before Genesis 3. Paul is not making a statement about animals. He is making a statement about people. Animals are irrelevant to Romans 5:12 except for Paul’s statement that death entered the world at sin.
