Russia launches Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile from the Sea of Okhotsk
The missile was launched from the nuclear-powered submarine Generalissimo Suvorov. Russia's Defense Ministry claims that its warheads successfully reached the designated target area at the test range.
The Generalissimo Suvorov is part of Russia's Pacific Fleet and can carry up to 16 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles, which can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
Similar tests have been conducted before, including from the same submarine. Officially, the launch was part of routine combat training.
