A true Guru should free you from dependence, not make you dependent on him. Stay away from businessmen pretending to be Gurus. Notice the Red flags early on, before they completely brainwash you and seek your full submission.

Don’t complain when other religions mock Sanatan. We are doing a pretty good job ourselves. Look at what we have reduced it to ourselves- bhajan clubbing, endless shows, spirituality for sale. Everything has become a business. Even devotion. GOD has become a content on sale.
Have we officially commercialised Hinduism and outsourced it to naach-gaana? It really seems so. Everything is becoming louder, flashier, more commercial. Hinduism was never meant to be a show.
This “bhajan clubbing” and turning Bhakti into naach-gaana needs to Stop. Hinduism is not a nightclub. I am totally against this idea of turning Bhakti & spirituality into entertainment. What are we doing to Santan Dharma? Making it a spectacle for entertainment.
Osho was 100% right about organised religions. Religious heads, priests, pandits, maulvis, organisations, hierarchies, somewhere GOD gets lost in all this. Spirituality was never meant to be organised.
I have never understood this. People read the Bhagavad Gita every day, quote Krishna, worship Krishna…and are still consumed by jealousy, comparison, ego. What is the point of reading the Gita if the Gita never enters your life?
At some point, Spirituality will have to be rescued from the business/sales gurus. I don’t know when that point will come, when people will realize this truth.
I have crossed Nepal–Tibet immigration checkpoint 6 times on my way to Kailash & return.
Chinese immigration officers are extremely strict. They check your belongings, your phone, your photographs-everything. Last time, an officer checked my phone for almost 20 minutes. He went through practically every photograph & video in my phone’s gallery. And now I am thinking about that same checkpoint. In one moment, everything was swept away. Immigration officers, Nepali sherpas, Tibetan tour guides, Tourists, Pilgrims. People carrying passports of different countries. Some of them may have spent years building a life abroad, becoming American or British citizens, finally holding that passport with so much pride. And in front of Nature? It meant nothing. The nature did not ask who was Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, American or British. It did not check anybody’s passport.
A lesson for humanity.
We have a strange definition of success. A person can build companies, make billions, influence millions and still not know how to sit quietly with himself & his mind. We call the first achievement. The ancient seekers were interested in the second.
Stop being available to everyone, all the time. When you are always available, people start taking your time, advice, emotions, love and caring nature for granted. Being kind doesn’t mean being always available. Sometimes, you have to teach people to value your presence by protecting it.
The problem with modern spirituality is that everything has become a stage performance. Bhakti is getting replaced with Bhajan Clubbing, Yoga with exercise, Gyan with podcasts, meditation with Apps. Even enlightenment is announced & celebrated by Gurus.
GOD became harder to find when too many people started representing Him. That’s why today it’s harder for people to connect with GOD, because they are not searching for GOD- they’re searching for their preconceived beliefs and version of GOD.
Religion was supposed to reduce the distance between humans & GOD. Somewhere along the way, we built an entire industry inside around GOD. Priests, pandits, gurus, institutions, rules, rituals identities, power. GOD became harder to find because too many people started representing Him.
