Which profession is hardest for a foreign-trained professional to enter and practice in the West?

Answer: Medicine. Why? Common sense. You simply can't entrust the lives and health of your citizens to someone whose training and competence haven't been thoroughly tested. That's why the West has a rigorous, multi-stage licensing process, followed by demanding residency requirements before a foreign-trained doctor can practice independently.

Compare that to India. We have people scoring minus 40 marks who should ideally be banned from ever appearing for medical entrance exams, yet are currently becoming doctors. A profession that deals with life and death, have lowest margin of error, and therefore should demand the highest level of competency, has become one of the biggest laboratories for affirmative action. Really sad state of affairs.

15 years back, every sensible Indian dreamed that the country is well on its way to become a super power. At least, a name to reckon with.

We had expectations of a progressive society, of speedy development, of growing global respect.

Look at where we are today. Broken, corrupted, divided... really far back in reverse. Selling our assets to the rich, targeting the ordinary with pellet guns. Hollowing our institutions, and killing our thirst for learning and knowledge.

Actually, India has never seen such damage before. It will be extremely hard to repair the land, its people and its systems after such a disaster.

After GST, cess, registration, insurance and other taxes, that 10 lakh car can easily become 18 lakh on-road.

But the real joke starts before you even buy it.

A scathing reality check from TOI editorial that completely vindicates Team Bharat: the e20 mandate is a textbook botched policy driven by distillery profits over public interest.

The disastrous trade-off:
• Fake energy savings: Displaces very little petrol/km while reducing vehicle mileage.
• Economic blunder: Only makes financial sense if crude touches $120–$130/bbl. At ~$70 crude, we're burning cash.
• Food security disaster: 29% of maize diverted to fuel tanks. We spent 30x more forex importing edible oil than we "saved" on ethanol restrictions.
• Ecological crime: 4,670 liters of precious groundwater wasted for a single liter of maize ethanol, draining fragile aquifers.

We aren't saving foreign exchange; we're just shifting dependence from foreign crude to imported food while gutting our water tables. Scrap the first-gen biofuel lobby racket.

Now sugar has to be imported because all the sugarcane is consumed for Ethanol blending in fuel. Btw blending was done to reduce the import bill irony is that we have to import sugar now.
